Resource Update: Critical thinking on politics
FactCheckEd
http://factchecked.org/
Late last year, we unveiled the redesign of our main website, FactCheck.org. Now the site’s younger sibling gets its turn. We hereby happily announce the new look of FactCheckEd.org, our classroom offshoot.
The content hasn’t changed. You’ll find the same solid material that aims to help teach high school students how to think analytically, an especially critical skill given our Internet-driven society and the endless stream of good and bad information that comes our way. FactCheckEd.org has more than thirty lesson plans that can be used individually or tied together to create units on logic. They’re now presented in a way that we hope makes them easier to peruse and download.
We also offer a re-organized, re-named Resources section, our list of Web sites useful for students (or anyone else) doing research. We tell you what kinds of information they offer, whether they have a political slant and other things you need to know. And we’ve carried over our Dictionary of terms that turn up in discussions of politics and policy.
If you’ve paid a visit to FactCheckEd.org in the past, we’d encourage a return trip. If you’ve never been, it’s a great time to explore. Let us know what you think.
Many thanks.
